The GHSA Flag Football playoffs begin with the first and second rounds on Nov. 30. The quarterfinals take place on Dec. 2 and the semifinals are on Dec. 6. The flag football season will end with the state championships on Dec. 9 at Georgia State Stadium’s Centre Parc Stadium in Atlanta.

Last season, the GHSA awarded two state championships – Calvary Day in Class A-5A and West Forsyth in Class 6A-7A. This season, three champions will be crowned following the GHSA’s expansion of the classifications to include Class 7A (Division 3), Class 5A-6A (Division 2) and Class A-4A (Division 1).

At the season’s midpoint, let’s look at the top-10 in each of the three classifications.

Class 7A

1. Mill Creek (11-0)

Note: Mill Creek is flawless and tops the state’s highest class and leads Hillgrove, Lambert, Marietta and Blessed Trinity. The top-ranked Hawks have held nine of their 11 opponents scoreless and are coming off a 32-0 victory over No. 7 North Gwinnett.

Note: Top-ranked and defending-champion Calvary Day leads the pack and are 6-0 and 4-0 in Division 1, Area 1. The Cavaliers beat Division 2 No. 3 Dodge County 18-12 on Oct. 16 and are coming off a 32-0 victory over Johnson-Savannah. Calvary Day will face No. 3 Long County Tuesday. Southeast Bulloch, Long County, St. Anne Pacelli and St. Vincent’s round out the top 5.
