“We’re getting to play a lot of guys, and it is a real plus having some depth. We executed well offensively, and we rose up defensively.” – Private No. 3 Calvary Day head coach Mark Stroud told the Savannah Morning News after the Cavalier blew out Strong Rock Christian, 42-14. Calvary Day led 35-0 at halftime.

“We can learn a lot from these types of games. The score doesn’t matter, and we just have to keep getting better each week.” – Cavalier sophomore QB Jake Merklinger also said to the Savannah Morning News after Calvary Day’s win over Strong Rock.

“We had multiple opportunities to put this game away and those two turnovers were huge. We were ready, I think we played a great game, but we can’t make those mistakes to beat a good game.” – Whitefield Academy head coach Coleman Joyner told the Marietta Daily Journal after the Wolfpack (4-1) gave up a late touchdown and 2-point conversion in a 29-28 loss to Brookstone.

“(We made) too many mistakes. We had some big penalties, a couple of key turnovers and missed assignments, and that was the difference in the game. I thought it was a hard-fought game, we just had too many (mistakes), and again, it’s coming down to execution and then that falls on the coaching staff, so we just have to battle back and be ready to go next week.” – Mount Paran (2-3) head coach Mitch Jordan said to the Marietta Daily Journal after his team gave up a late touchdown to Commerce to snap a 13-13 tie, as the Eagles lost to the host Tigers, 20-13.
