ajc.com

Both the Thomasville Bulldogs and Dodge County Indians found themselves down by double digits, only to rally and emerge victorious.

The No. 4 Bulldogs beat 4A’s Cairo 26-21 after trailing 21-0. They’re 3-0. Twenty of the Bulldogs’ points came in the second half, as Thomasville Times-Enterprise correspondent Tim Morse writes.

The No. 8 Indians won 30-22 over 4A’s West Laurens despite being down by 20 in the second half. They’re also 3-0.

Here’s how the rest of the top 10 fared:

  • The top-ranked defending champs Callaway Cavaliers improved to 3-0 with a 23-14 win over 4A’s Hardaway. Daniel Evans has a game story for The LaGrange Daily News.
  • No. 3 Fitzgerald is 2-0 after beating 1A Public’s winless Turner County by a score of 34-12.
  • The No. 6 Lovett Lions won their Region 6 debut over Washington 32-6. The Lions improve to 2-1.
  • The No. 7 Bleckley County Royals are 3-0 after beating Toombs County 35-18 in a cross-region showdown. Dave Whitaker has details for The Bleckley Progress.
  • The No. 9 Vidalia Indians’ stay in the rankings might be brief after they lost their opener 14-7 to 1A Public’s Emanuel County Institute. Bob Roberts has the writeup for Southeast Georgia Today.
  • The tenth-ranked Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets made quick work of last-minute opponent of 4A’s Jenkins, winning 39-7. The Jackets (3-0) added Jenkins after Brantley County Covid-canceled on them.
  • Off: No. 2 Rabun County (Covid), No. 5 Northeast (bye)
