Carrollton quarterback Ju Ju Lewis, the No. 1 sophomore football recruit in the country, committed to Southern Cal on Tuesday morning. Lewis announced his decision on his X account (formerly Twitter), where he has more than 23,900 followers.

Lewis had more than 20 offers, including those from Georgia and Alabama, before he played his first high school varsity game last year. He got his first from Florida in September of his eighth-grade year.

His freshman season only bolstered everyone’s faith in him. Lewis was 283-of-432 passing for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns. The yardage and TD records were state freshman records and ranked among the top 15 all-time for players in any class.

In the Class 7A championship game against Mill Creek, which Carrollton lost 70-35, Lewis passed for 531 yards and five touchdowns. On Friday, Lewis passed for 186 yards and a touchdown in Carrollton’s opener, a 39-33 loss to Hughes.

ESPN and 247Sports list Lewis as the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026. Lewis had visited Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Southern Cal since June.

Lewis is not the only Georgia sophomore, or even the only Carrollton sophomore, who is committed.

Carrollton offensive lineman Zykie Helton committed to Alabama in July. Cedar Grove cornerback Devin Carter committed to Florida State in April.
