Green Bay Packers fans celebrate Super Bowl win

Hundreds turned out for sold-out celebration at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., to honor the Super Bowl champion Packers in the "Return to Titletown" celebration Tuesday.

"It's been a great journey."

More than 56,000 fans paid $5 to be in the stands and spend a final hour with their team, who last played at Lambeau Field 36 days before.

Green Bay Packers safety Nick Collins waves what is dubbed the "Titletown Towel." Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, whom the Packers defeated 31-25 in the Super Bowl, often wave the "Terrible Towel."

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy took the Vince Lombardi Trophy on a victory lap. The Super Bowl XLV trophy will be placed with the other NFL championships the franchise has won going back to 1929.

A shirtless Green Bay Packers guard Jason Spitz got into the celebration, diving bare chest into the snow. Temperatures during Tuesday's rally were registered at 8 below zero wind chill.

Fans openly displayed their giddiness to have the Vince Lombardi Trophy return home. Green Bay is often called "Titletown, USA" for the number of NFL titles it has won over the years, including the first two Super Bowls. The name appears on the city seal.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Super Bowl MVP, concluded a whirlwind 48 hours that included a trip to Disney World on Monday morning and an appearance on "The Late Show" with David Letterman that night.
