Veteran Tom Glavine said his shoulder felt good and he was excited about his scheduled injury-rehab start Saturday for Class AAA Gwinnett.

"I'm looking forward to it," said the 43-year-old left-hander, who has been on the DL all season, recovering from August shoulder and elbow surgeries.

He had been scheduled to return in mid-April but experienced shoulder pain while batting in an April 12 rehab start that was supposed to have been his final tuneup before his return.

Glavine won't have to hit Saturday since the designated hitter will be used against Toledo, an American League team. He's scheduled to throw about 60 pitches.

"I'm ready to go," said Glavine, who pitched three simulated innings against Braves hitters Monday.

The Gwinnett ballpark is only 20 minutes from his home in Johns Creek. "Although it's closer [than Turner Field], I don't want to get used to that drive," he said, smiling.
