Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball team will begin its 18-game ACC schedule with a string of road games and complete it with three matchups against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago.

Coach Nell Fortner’s team will play four of its first five league games on the road – at Boston College (Dec. 18), at Virginia (Dec. 29), Florida State (Jan. 1), at Louisville (Jan. 5) and at Wake Forest (Jan. 8).

The opener against the Eagles will be conspicuous for guard Cameron Swartz, who transferred to Tech in the offseason from Boston College, where she was a three-year starter and last season a first-team All-ACC selection and the league’s most improved player.

Another transfer guard, Bianca Jackson, will get two games against her former team, Florida State, which she led in scoring and assists in the 2020-21 season. The second game against the Seminoles will be Feb. 19 in Tallahassee. That’s part of arguably the toughest three-game stretch for Tech, which after playing FSU will then go to Notre Dame on Feb. 23 and finish at home Feb. 26 against Virginia Tech. All three teams played in the NCAA Tournament, as did Tech for the second year in a row.

Perhaps the most anticipated home date is the Feb. 2 game against N.C. State, the three-time defending ACC champion.

Tech begins its season with home games against in-state opponents Georgia State (Nov. 10) and Kennesaw State (Nov. 13).
