After 33 games in three seasons, Georgia Tech safety Kaleb Oliver will leave the Yellow Jackets as a graduate transfer. Oliver, who started four games this past season, made the announcement Thursday.

Oliver was part of a talented secondary, mostly playing nickel back the past two seasons for defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker. He started six games as a sophomore in 2019, finishing seventh on the team with 39 tackles, as well as six passes defensed, tied for second on the team. In 2020, he played in nine games, starting four, and was credited with 32 tackles, eighth on the team. Four of the tackles were for loss.

Among his more productive games last season was his performance against Duke in November, when he had three tackles, 1½ for loss, along with a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.

Oliver, from Murfreesboro, Tenn., has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Since the start of September, Oliver is at least the 14th Tech scholarship player to put his name into the transfer database.
