Defensive end Howard Cross III of Montvale, NJ received a 2019 offer from Georgia Tech.

Cross, the son of former New York Giants wide receiver Howard Cross, Jr., announced his offer on Twitter on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 240 pound rising junior at St. Joseph Regional School has offers from Boston College, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, NC State, Rutgers and Syracuse, according to 247 Sports.

Cross III is currently unranked.

After being offered by Rutgers in April, the NJ.com reported that Cross’ final destination could be determined by which school offers the best academics.

"As much as I love football, I'm looking more for the education," Cross said, according to the NJ.

Cross, Jr. played in the NFL for 13 years after being drafted out of Alabama in the sixth-round of the 1989 NFL Draft.
