Jeff Francoeuer will return to Turner Field Friday. This time, he arrives as a member of the Padres.
The former Brave and local product was recently called up by San Diego, which starts a four-game series in Atlanta Friday.
The outfield, and now sometimes pitcher, is on the big-league roster after spending the season at Triple-A El Paso. Francoeur was hitting .294 (115 of 391) in 98 games. He had 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. Francoeur has also made seven relief appearances and has a 4.26 ERA in 6.1 innings. He has allowed five hits, three earned runs and three walks while striking out four.
The Padres signed Francoeur to a minor-league contract after he spent spring training with the Indians.
