Former University of Georgia linebacker Alec Ogletree was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the New York Giants, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Ogletree, along with the Rams 2019 seventh-round pick, will travel to the opposite coast, and in return the Giants will give the the Rams their 2018 fourth-round pick and sixth-round pick.

Ogletree was drafted 30th overall by the Rams in the 2013 draft. He had just signed a four-year, $42 million extension with the Rams last October. In his five years with the team, he recorded 367 tackles, 12 forced fumbles and six interceptions.

The trade can't be officially announced until March 14, when the 2018 league year begins.

Rams running back Todd Gurley, who also played at Georgia with Ogletree was not happy about the trade news.
