Hosting the men’s and women’s 10K national championships is bringing a deep field to the AJC Peachtree Road Race.

Seven Olympians have committed to run in the Fourth of July race, which features a purse of $100,000.

Scheduled to compete in the men’s race are:

  • Ryan Hall, a two-time Olympian in the marathon
  • Abdi Abdirahman, a four-time Olympian (10,000 meters and marathon)

In the women’s race are:

  • Julie Culley, who competed in the 2012 London Olympics in the 5,000 meters
  • Amy Hastings, who competed in London in the 10,000 meters
  • Desiree Linden, who competed in the marathon in the London Olympics
  • Jen Rhines, a three-time Olympian
  • Blake Russell, who competed in the marathon in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing

Also in the field are: Sara Hall, national champ in cross country in 2012 and mile in 2011; Serena Burla, national champ in the half-marathon; Lauren Fleshman, a two-time national champion in the 5,000; and Katie McGregor, a two-time (2005, ’06) 10K national champ.

Matt Tegenkamp and Janet Bawcom are the defending champs in the men’s and women’s 10K races, which were held during last year’s AJC Peachtree.
