Falcons reserve wide receiver Drew Davis, who had foot surgery and started the season on the physically unable to return list, is close to returning to practice Falcons coach Mike Smith said.

The Falcons placed Davis on the physically unable to perform list for training camp.

The Falcons are also hopeful that they’ll get offensive guard Justin Blalock (back) and wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot) back for the game this week against the Chicago Bears at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Davis has been a top special-teams player for the Falcons since signing as a college free agent in July 2011.

He started three games for the Falcons in 2013 after injuries to Julio Jones and Roddy White thinned out the position and had 12 receptions for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
