The Philadelphia Eagles have carried a number of looks throughout the years. Longest lasting was the Kelly green helmets with silver wings, which was redrawn in 1996.

For a large part of the 1970s, the Bengals' team colors were orange, black and white, and their helmets were a similar shade of orange.

Patriot Pat, a revolutionary minuteman, stood guard on the New England Patriot's helmet until 1992.

From 1962 till 1973, a red bison was the symbol that stood on the Buffalo Bill's white helmet. Red and blue stripes were added in 1965. The helmet is still used as an alternate uniform.

When the Dallas Cowboys debuted in 1960, their helmet consisted a simple blue star and a single blue stripe on a while helmet. America's team changed to a gray-color scheme in 1964.

Leather football helmets haven't been used since the 1950s ... but who can argue with the look?
