Here’s what the Falcons had to say after the 26-16 loss to the Ravens on Sunday:
ZANE BEADLES, right guard
On making his first start with the Falcons: "It was great to be back out there. Had a lot of fun. It's been a while since I've been out there in a game, so that was exciting today. I think overall, when we see when we look at the team. There is always something to improve on. Bottom line, as a team, we didn't get it done today. That is really what matters."
On the Ravens front: "They have good players and they do a lot of different stuff. They did that today to us. It was a challenge. Like I said, we weren't good enough today."
On what happened to the offense in the third quarter: "I don't know. We did come out and were in a good rhythm early on. In the third quarter, it didn't seem like we ever got into a rhythm. I don't know how many plays we had, but it wasn't very many. That's difficult when you have that few of plays in a quarter to get into any kind of rhythm is really difficult. I don't have any answers as far what it was, but it was a tough spot."
GRADY JARRETT, defensive tackle
On the season: "It's been an emotional year, up and down. It's an emotional year for everybody involved. For us in here, the fans. It's an emotional roller coaster we are not coming out on the right end of it. We've been in a lot of tight games and we haven't come out on the right end. There's no excuse. We've got to find a way to come down on the right end."
DESMOND TRUFANT, cornerback
On the game: "I thought we did a pretty good job holding them to field goals on some of those long drives. We didn't do enough."
On the rest of the season: "We're going to fight, regardless of whatever the situation is. That's in our DNA."
DEION JONES, middle linebacker
On his return to action: "It was good. It was fun. I had fun running around."
On the game: "We did the best we could. We fought."
On the rest of the season: "Just fight. We've still got games left."
On Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson: "He's tough. He's a little faster than most we've faced. He's a good kid. He was flying around and doing what he had to do."
JAKE MATTHEWS, left tackle
On the offensive line: "We've got to get better. That's really it."
On the anemic offense: "We didn't execute. We could have protected better and run the ball better. All around offensively we didn't do a good job."
CALVIN RIDLEY, wide receiver
On his thoughts on the game: "They had a good defense. We couldn't do what we wanted to do; if we could we would. They had a pretty good defense and we were flat."
On turning things around going forward: "We have to go in and play to win. Go to practice, play to win, get better every day and just go in there and win. We have to get better at all phases of the game, we just got to be a completely better team and win games."
On dialogue from coaches after the loss: "It hurts. We work all week to go out there and perform the best we could to win the game, and we couldn't do it, so it hurts. That's all we can really say, just have to get ready for next week."
On approach for the remainder of the season: "Like I said, and like how I say every time we lose, get better, go back to practice, get better and go into the next game and win."
On Deion Jones coming back: "It was great, starting linebacker, one of the captains of the team, feels good to have him back out there, it gives the defense a little more motivation to play well, and us a little more motivation to play well."
