Here’s what Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan had to say about the Eagles’ defense:

On the defensive tackles Fletcher Cox and Tim Jernigan: "They both do a really good job. Obviously, they are both physical. You talk about doing the dirty work, but they are both are very physical with what they do. Penetrating ….there more taking up space by Jernigan, I would suppose, but they are both really good players. The interior of their defense is excellent."

On the play of safety Malcolm Jenkins: "He's such a savvy veteran player. He's playing at a really high level. To me, he's having one of the best years of his career. He's always been a great competitor. I think he's done a nice job for them."

On linebacker Mychal Kendricks: "They are very good in the middle. Kendricks has great speed, sideline-to-sideline. We've played against him a number of times. Just extremely athletic and very physical, too. They do a nice job of marrying up the front four with the (linebackers) and keeping things tight in the run game and then playing good coverage behind it."
