Falcons starting left tackle Jake Matthews missed practice with a strained back on Monday.

Tyler Polumbus lined up at left tackle when the first-team offense walked-through a play.

He was lined up next to left guard Mike Person, center Joe Hawley, right guard Chris Chester and right tackle Ryan Schraeder.

Quinn said that the team must monitor the seriousness of Matthews’ injury.

A few weeks back, the Falcons worked out former Miami and St. Louis tackle Jake Long.

“He’s somebody that we still have talked about for sure,” Quinn said. “A guy who we have a lot of regard for. It’s not a topic that we’ve discussed with him at length. I’ll wait to see where we are at with regards to the injuries before we move forward in that way, in terms of future players.”
