Cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman (concussion, both projected starters on defense, returned to practice on Tuesday.

Trufant and Hageman did not play in the second exhibition game against the Jets.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said he wasn’t sure if Trufant would be ready to play against Miami on Saturday.

During the light portion of practice, Trufant looked good running down the field and reaching over his helmet to make a catch.

Hageman, who was in the concussion protocol, was being closely monitiored.

“We’re not going to do contact with him today,” Quinn said. “If things go well, he’ll be back fully cleared. He’s nailed each step of the way. Today is kind of the final test or practice without contact.”

Linebacker Derek Akunne (foot), running back Antone Smith (hamstring), safety William Moore (calf) and running back Evan Royster (ribs) did not practice and were working with the trainers.
