FLOWERY BRANCH – While cornerback Desmond Trufant has drawn a lot of early-season praise, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said the right cornerback Robert Alford had a strong game against the Texans, too.

“Both corners really stepped up,” Quinn said. “Robert and Tru, I felt had really good games. There were more pass break-ups in this game than we’ve had in a long time.”

The Falcons had 10 pass deflections against the Texans. Trufant and Alford and three each.

“For those two, in this game, I thought they were really on it,” Quinn said.

In addition to his deflections, Trufant returned a fumble 24 yards for a touchdown.
