Cam Newton, 2010 Heisman (Auburn) - In his lone NFL season, last season's Rookie of the Year threw for 4,051 yards, 21 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. Newton also rushed for 706 yards and 14 touchdowns with the Carolina Panthers.

9. Marcus Allen, 1981 Heisman (Southern Cal) - Allen ran for 12,243 yards and caught 587 passes for 5,412 yards during his 16 seasons with the Los Angeles Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen holds the NFL record for consecutive seasons with a rushing touchdown a nd is the oldest player (37) to have scored more than 10 touchdowns in a season.

8. Earl Campbell, 1977 Heisman (Texas) - A punishing runner, Campbell banged his way to 9,407 yards on 2,187 carries and 77 touchdowns over eight seasons with the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. The five-time Pro Bowl running back led the league in rushing three seasons and was the 1979 NFL MVP.

7. Tim Tebow, 2007 Heisman (Florida) - In his first two seasons as a pro, Tebow has thrown for 2,383 yards, 17 touchdowns with 9 interceptions. He has rushed for 887 yards and 12 touchdowns. After a miraculous season in which he led the Broncos to the playoffs, he was traded to the New York Jets.

Tony Dorsett, 1976 Heisman (Pittsburgh) - As a member of the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, Dorsett ran for 12,739 yards on 2,936 attempts (4.3 yard average) and 92 total touchdowns over 12 seasons. He is one of only two Hall of Famers to have won a Heisman Trophy, a Super Bowl and a college football championship.

5. Charles Woodson, 1997 Heisman (Michigan) - The only defensive player to ever win a Heisman Trophy, In 14 NFL seasons, Woodson has more than 50 interceptions and 12 touchdowns. He has 881 tackles and 15.5 sacks as a member of the Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders. As a kick returner has amassed 708 yards on 87 attempts in his career.

Paul Hornung, 1956 Heisman (Notre Dame) - The "Golden Boy" scored 760 points on 62 touchdowns -- 190 PATs and 66 field goals -- in nine seasons as a halfback and placekicker with the Green Bay Packers. But Hornung did more than just score points. The NFL's MVP of 1961 gained 3,711 yards rushing and 1,480 yards on pass receptions.

3. O.J. Simpson, 1968 Heisman (Southern Cal) - Simpson rushed for 11,236 rushing yards in 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers. When he retired he was 2nd on the NFL's all-time rushing list. He remains the only player in NFL history to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a 14-game season.

2. Roger Staubach, 1963 Heisman (Navy) - Staubach played 11 seasons in the NFL, all with the Dallas Cowboys. He compiled 1,685 completions for 22,700 yards and 153 touchdowns, with 109 interceptions. He also gained 2,264 rushing yards and scored 21 touchdowns on 410 carries. He was selected to six Pro Bowls and won two Super Bowls.

1. Barry Sanders, 1988 Heisman (Oklahoma State) - Sanders was selected to the Pro Bowl in all of his 10 seasons as a pro. He set an NFL record by rushing for at least 100 yards in 14 consecutive games and was only the third player to reach 2,000 yards in a single season. He finished his career with 15,269 rushing yards on 3,062 carries (5.0 average) and 99 touchdowns.

Among those not included in the list were: Alan Amache, 1954 Heisman (Wisconsin) - In six seasons with the Baltimore Colts, Amache had 4,045 rushing yards, 101 receptions for 733 yards and 44 touchdowns. He is famous for scoring the winning touchdown in the 1958 NFL Championship Game against the New York Giants, labeled "The Greatest Game Ever Played."

Herschel Walker, 1982 Heisman (Georgia) - Walker ran for 8,225 yards and 61 touchdowns, along with 4,859 receiving yards with 21 touchdowns over 12 NFL seasons. The two-time All-Pro is the only player to gain 4,000 yards three different ways: rushing, receiving and kickoff returns (5,084 yards).

Jim Plunkett, 1970 Heisman (Stanford) - Plunkett led the Raiders to two Super Bowl victories. He threw for 25,882 yards with 164 touchdowns and 198 interceptions over a 15-year career. He is one of four players who have won the Heisman and been named Super Bowl MVP.

Bo Jackson, 1985 Heisman (Auburn) - In three NFL season, Jackson rushed for 2,782 more yards and 16 touchdowns as backup tailback for the Los Angeles Raiders. The two-sport star is the first to be an All-Star in two pro sports. Jackson's 221 yards on Nov. 30, 1987, is still a "Monday Night Football" record.

Eddie George, 1995 Heisman (Ohio State) - George had 10,441 rushing yards, 268 receptions, 2,227 receiving yards, and 78 touchdowns in nine NFL seasons. the 1996 NFL Rookie of the Year was a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
