Tony Gonzalez sends inspirational message to high school football players
Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez sent a inspirational message to the high school football players at his alma mater in Huntingdon Beach, Calif., before the team played in the CIF Southern Section Southwestern Division championship game last Saturday.
Gonzalez, in the video, reminisced about when he played in the championship game 20 years earlier. His Huntingdon team failed to capture the championship in 1993, and the future football Hall of Famer declred how he wished he could "replay that game" against Los Alamitos.
Gonzalez, who graduated in 1994, reminded the team the effort and dedication required to win the championship.
"Wish you guys all the luck in the world," Gonzalez told the team. "Listen to your coaches, and listen to your heart."
The Oilers (9-5) followed through winning the championship 42-28 over Newport Harbor.
