Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Friday:

  1. SAINTS OFFSEASON CHAMPS: We asked y'all to vote on who won the offseason among the NFC South teams. Apparently, a lot of folks are impressed with the Saints signing of running back Adrian Peterson because they won in a landslide, followed by the Falcons, Buccaneers and Panthers.
  • OTAs CLOSER: The Falcons have served their three-day penalty for excessive OTA contact and will return to the field for the start of their seven sessions Tuesday.
  • BUCS APOLOGIZE: Bucs coach Dirk Koetter, who’s on facebook and pretty active, didn’t get the joke of his social-media staff and called them “unprofessional” for trolling the Falcons.
  • SECURITY ALERT: Falcons owner Arthur Blank discussed the security measures that will be in place at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • EMOTIONAL RESCUE: It strikes me a bit peculiar that coach Dan Quinn won’t admit publicly that he wished he’d high-jacked Shanahan’s play-calling the Super Bowl. We talked to some of the top sports psychologists in the nation about what Quinn and the rest of the team must go through to move forward mentally for a long Sunday story.
