Falcons defensive end Derrick Shelby, who’s been battling a groin injury for most of the season, was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.

Shelby played in seven games and made three starts this season. He has 10 tackles and one tackle for losses.

The Falcons elevated safety Ryan Neal to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.

The Falcons also added running back Jeremy Langford, a former fourth-round pick in 2015, to the practice squad. During two seasons with the Bears he rushed for 737 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
