Ricardo Allen in concussion protocol after big hit

Falcons safety Ricardo Allen is in the concussion protocol program after landing a big hit in the fourth quarter of the 30-26 victory against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

After the hit on Lions wide receiver T.J. Jones , Allen was sprawled on the field. It was on the first play after the two-minute warning. Jones’ catch picked up 29 yards.

Rookie Damontae Kazee replaced Allen for the final 11 plays of the game.

The Falcons were without defensive end Vic Beasley (hamstring), defensive tackle Courtney Upshaw (ankle) and tackle Ryan Schraeder (concussion). All three were inactive against the Lions.
