Reed’s re-negotiated contract saved Falcons $1.5 million

Falcons defensive end Brooks Reed signed his renegotiated contract with the Falcons on Monday.

Reed’s base salary was reduced from $4.5 million to $3 million, but it was guaranteed. His cap number for 2018 is $3.9 million.

Reed’s base salary for 2019 is $4.5 million with a $1 million escalator clause if he makes the Pro Bowl.

Reed previously had $9 million guaranteed in the contract he signed on March 11, 2015.
