Falcons rookie safety Keanu Neal, who’s recovering from knee surgery, is set to make his NFL debut against the Saints on Monday Night Football.

“He had an excellent week,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said on Saturday. “He’s fully cleared. He’s another one that I was pleased with the work that he put in on the rehab. Now, that carried over onto the field. We are expecting him to get his first action.”

Neal was injured in the third exhibition game against the Miami Dolphins on Aug. 25. He had surgery on his right knee.

The first-round pick from Florida, who was the 17th player taken overall, may not start.

“He’ll play a lot, but I don’t know which package that we’ll start in,” Quinn said. “A little bit depends on them, to find out what group goes in. He won’t play all of the plays in the game, but he’ll play a lot.”
