Falcons defensive end Takkarist McKinley, who has been slowed after shoulder surgery, had a brief, but strong showing against the Jets on Friday.

McKinley played four snaps. He flashed his speed and power with one tackle and a quarterback hit.

“He played strong,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Saturday. “No setbacks for him. He’ll basically be up to full speed here this week.”

After suffering a bruise/contusion early in the game, the Falcons were extra cautious with McKinley. He was limited in practices and held out of most 11-on-11 situations.

“We just want to make sure that we always do the right thing for the guys to make sure they are on the way back,” Quinn said. “He passed with flying colors and is back to his full reps and full preparation heading into the season.”

Also, guard Jamil Douglas left game with a finger injury, but returned to the sidelines. Quinn said the injury wasn’t serious and noted that the Falcons are expected to get tackle Ty Sambrailo (hand injury) back for the next game, which is against the Kansas City Chiefs at 7 p.m. Friday at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
