Falcons place-kicker Younghoe Koo, who made four of four field-goal attempts in the 26-9 win over the Saints, was named the NFC’s special-teams player of the week Wednesday.

Koo made made field goals of 37, 36, 48 and 30 yards and two extra-point attempts.

“What kind of statement did he make?” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “That he is accountable to get the job done. I thought the moment wasn't too big for him. I liked his process of where he was at. But no bigger statement than just being consistent."

Koo was signed Oct. 29 after the team released kicker Matt Bryant, the team’s all-time leading scorer.

Koo played at Georgia Southern.
