Linebacker Keith Brooking, the last remaining player from the Falcons’ 1998 Super Bowl team, is no longer with Atlanta after signing with the Cowboys.

Former Falcons All-Pro linebacker Keith Brooking signed with Dallas as a free agent Saturday.

Brooking started 34 straight games to end his college career at Georgia Tech. He led the Jackets in tackles during his final three seasons and became the leading tackler in school history with 467 career stops.

Brooking was the Falcons' first pick, and 12th overall, of the 1998 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season, Brooking played in 15 games and posted 32 tackles, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles.

Brooking spent the first 11 years of his career with the Falcons and has not missed a game since the 2000 season.

Brooking visits Tyrone Elementary school to read to the kids. In 2003 Brooking established the Keith Brooking Children's Foundation to aid foster children throughout the metro Atlanta area. The foundation has awarded more than a $300,000 in grants since its installation.

Brooking led the team in tackles for eight consecutive years. In 2002, Brooking became the fifth Falcons player to total 200 tackles in a season.

Brooking has been to the Pro Bowl five times. He's a two-time All-Pro selection -- 2002 and 2004.

Brooking had been the only remaining member of the 1998 Falcons team that made it to Super Bowl XXXIII against the Denver Broncos.

In his final season in Atlanta, Brooking led the team with 102 total tackles.
