Julio Jones has 10-game touchdown drought

Jones has 34 catches for 564 yards and no touchdowns this season. His yards are the third highest in the league behind Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins (594) and Minnesota’s Adam Thielen (589).

“As far as me not having touchdowns, I’ve never been a stat guy,” Jones said on Thursday. “I don’t care about going out there and scoring a touchdown to make me feel good. I feel great regardless.”

In last week's 41-17 loss to the Steelers, Jones didn't catch a pass until the fourth quarter.

“I can go in the game and never have (any) catches and I’m going to feel the same way as long as we are successful and I’m contributing to the team,” Jones said. “If I’m going out there and I’m demanding two men and two guys on me, I’m doing my job for the team.

“Like I said, I don’t go back and forth with touchdowns, this and that, and somebody telling me how successful I am. I’m doing my job. That’s why I’m here.”

The Falcons have used Sanu in the wildcat formation twice in short yardage situations this season. He’s ran the ball and was dropped for a loss of 4 yards against Carolina. Against Pittsburgh, the Falcons were called for an illegal formation.

Jones liked catching the touchdown from Sanu last season against the Bucs.

“Just to work on it through the week was fun,” Jones said. “Mohamed throws a great ball. He can throw the ball down the field.”

Sanu, who played some quarterback in at Rutgers and high school, was 5 of 5 passing for two touchdowns from his days with the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I didn’t want to let him down,” Jones said. “I didn’t want to mess up his stats either. He’s thrown a (completion) every time he’s thrown the ball down the field. I didn’t want to mess his stats up.”
