Heading for hall of fame, Deion coaches youth

Heading for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Deion Sanders coaches youth football.

Once known as "Primetime," Sanders has worked to change his image by devoting time to a youth sports program. On Aug. 6, he will become the first player to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame based on substantial play with the Atlanta Falcons.

Sanders is one of eight Falcons recognized by the team in its "Ring of Honor."

After starting his career in Atlanta, Sanders won Super Bowls with the Cowboys and 49ers.

He brought three of his youth teams, known as "The Truth" from the Dallas, Texas area to a tournament at West Lake High School.

Sanders, a 14-year pro and two-time NFC defensive player of the year, now spends his time coaching youth football. Here, he talks with his son Shedeur in the team's 42-14 win at a tournament in Atlanta.

First there was Deion, the Falcons' flashy defensive back. Years later, the team drafted DeAngelo Hall, but the current Redskins defensive back (left) didn't have quiet the impact in Atlanta.

Sanders also built his name in Atlanta as an outfielder for the Braves. He was a part of the successful Braves' teams in the early 1990s, and as a former player at Florida State, he is credited with bringing the Tomahawk Chop to Atlanta.
