Georgia Tech sophomore B-Back Dedrick Mills was named Preseason first-team All-ACC by the website Southern Pigskin. He's the only Yellow Jacket who made the site's 2017 All-ACC squad.

Mills rushed for 771 yards and 12 touchdowns as a true freshman in 2016. He was the first true freshman to start a season opener since 2008, and he finished the season by earning the MVP of the TaxSlayer Bowl after rushing for 169 yards in Georgia Tech’s 33-18 win over Kentucky.

Other notables with local ties on Southern Pigskin’s team are North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb (Hillgrove High School) and Clemson offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt (North Gwinnett High School).
