Falcons coach Dan Quinn elected for the players to stay outside and practice in the rain Tuesday.

“(Exhibition) season, we don’t know, but we are going to play a lot of games indoors,” Quinn said. “Whatever it is ... we needed to do rain work.”

The Falcons open the exhibition season Aug. 1 against the Denver Broncos in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game outdoors in Canton, Ohio.

“You never know when (the rain) is going to come,” Quinn said. “When you have those choices to (practice in the rain), I think it’s better to do it. It wasn’t so sloppy for us. Of course, if we’d got lightning, we’d (have moved) inside. It was an easy decision to come back out and fight through it.”

Handling the ball was as expected on the second day of training camp.

“You may have saw a couple of drops today. … When you get the chances for those moments, it’s worth it as long as it’s not going to affect practice in such a negative way,” Quinn said.
