Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Monday that cornerback Desmond Trufant will get a second medical opinion on the injury that forced him to leave Thursday’s game at Tampa Bay.

The Falcons said Trufant suffered a shoulder injury. Quinn said he would update Trufant’s status when the team issues its league-mandated injury report on Wednesday.

Trufant, 26, has not missed a game since the Falcons selected him in the first round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Washington. He’s their top cover man and was named to his first Pro Bowl team in 2015.
