Falcons sign linebacker, release fullback

The Falcons made a minor roster move by signing linebacker Jack Lynn and releasing fullback Soma Vainuki on Monday.

Lynn, 6-foot, 3-inches and 240 pounds, played in all 12 games and started 11 last season for Minnesota last season. He made 77 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss.

Vainuku, was one of two fullbacks sign by the Falcons in March to help fill the void at fullback left by Patrick DiMarco, who signed with Buffalo in free agency.

Vainuku originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played collegiately at Southern California.

The Falcons drafted former Wyoming running back Brian Hill in the fifth-round of the draft and plan to look at him at fullback along with Derrick Coleman.

Also, the Falcons added wide receiver Marvin Hall and released offensive lineman Robert Leff on Friday.

Hall played for Falcons offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian during the 2012 and 2013 seasons at Washington. He’s spent time of Arizona’s practice squad.
