Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud back at practice

Dec 18, 2013

Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud, who had started 80 of the past 82 games before sitting out last week against Washington, returned to practice on Wednesday.

DeCoud is in stage three of the league’s concussion protocol program and was available for non-contact drills.

Rookie Zeke Motta started for DeCoud against the Redskins. He finished with five tackles and a pass breakup.

Also, running back Antone Smith (knee) and wide receiver Darius Johnson (high ankle sprain) were at practice without their helmets.

Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who left the game with knee, was not seen during the open portion of practice.
