Falcons rookie pass rusher Vic Beasley said he’s been playing all season with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Beasley left Sunday’s game against the Jaguars after he aggravated the shoulder.
“I’ve played with a torn labrum the whole season,” Beasley said. “It was just one of those moments. I’ve played well with it throughout the season and I played with it in college.”
Beasley said he was unaware of the extent of the injury until he had an MRI on the shoulder before the season that revealed the torn labrum. The shoulder labrum is a piece of cartilage that attaches to the shoulder socket and helps to reinforce the joint.
Beasley missed time during OTAs in June with a shoulder strain but has played in every game this season. He appeared on the injury report with a foot injury on Nov. 6 but has never been listed with a shoulder injury.
The Falcons selected Beasley with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft out of Clemson.
