Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who had the day off from practice, is about to have his practice work load increased.

The Falcons have been giving Jones, who’s recovering from foot surgery, a day off after practicing one day.

He’s about to start practicing every day so that he’s ready to possibly play 60 snaps against the Saints in the season opener on Sept. 7 at the Georgia Dome.

“It’s important to have all of our guys ready to do that are going to play 60 snaps,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “That’s not possible if you’re not practicing every day. You’re going to see over the next 10 days a change in who’s practicing.”

Also, defensive end Kroy Biermann, who’s coming back from Achilles surgery, will have his off days taken away, too.
