There were a few grumbles from Falcons fans at the Georgia Dome Sunday after Matt Ryan threw his first interception against the Vikings.

After Ryan’s second interception scuttled a prime scoring chance in the third quarter, those grumbles turned into loud boos. They joined the growing ranks of Falcons supporters who have expressed dissatisfaction with Ryan’s play this season.

Ryan threw three interceptions during the Week 10 loss to the Colts, including a pick six. Ryan’s two picks on Sunday make 12 through 11 games, putting him on pace to match the career-high 17 interceptions he threw during the 2013 season.

Ryan now has thrown multiple interceptions in five games this season to match the career-high he set in 2009, his second pro season. After throwing no interceptions from Weeks 2 through 4, Ryan has 10 interceptions in his past seven games.

Ryan’s second interception Sunday was caught in the end zone by Vikings cornerback Terence Newman. Facing a third-and-goal at the 14-yard line, Ryan had escaped the pass rush and rolled to his left before throwing a late pass intended for tight end Jacob Tamme.

Fans loudly booed Ryan as he walked to the sideline. The Vikings turned that turnover into a field goal for a 10-3 lead.

Ryan threw his first interception of the game when running a two-minute drill near the end of the first half. He appeared to lose sight of cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, who cut in front of his pass intended for Nick Williams and caught it near the Minnesota 25-yard line.

The turnover erased a chance for the Falcons to score before halftime. The Vikings couldn’t capitalize, though, when Blair Walsh missed a 51-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
