Falcons middle linebacker Deion Jones leads the defense with 88 tackles.
He knows the defense faces a stiff challenge against the Vikings in Sunday’s NFC game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Vikings’ rushing attack features running backs Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon, who played at Sprayberry High and Georgia Southern.
“The have a speed guy,” Jones said. “They have a big and physical guy. They both feature the same kind of runs. They both run the ball hard.”
Murray has the hot hand. He’s rushed for 179 yards over the Vikings past two games. He busted big run of 34 yards against the Rams and 46 yards against the Lions on Thanksgiving.
The Vikings rush for 124.5 yards per game, which ranks sixth in the league. The Falcons’ defense is giving up 113.9 yards per game, which ranks 20th in the league.
Murray leads the Vikings in rushing with 496 yards on 130 carries and five touchdowns. McKinnon has rushed for 390 yards on 106 carries and three touchdowns.
