Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan will have his college jersey retired by Boston College during the upcoming football season, the school announced on Tuesday.

Ryan, who holds several of the school’s passing records, will be honored during the November 18th game against Connecticut.

The school will also retire Carolina linebacker Luke Kuechly’s number this upcoming season.

“On behalf of Boston College and Eagles fans everywhere, I would like to congratulate Luke and Matt on this well-deserved honor,” Boston college athletic director Brad Bates said in a statement released by the school. “Matt and Luke represent the very best of intercollegiate athletics.”

Ryan was drafted with the third overall pick of the 2008 NFL draft by the Falcons. He started immediately and guided the team to a 11-5 record and a wildcard playoff berth.

Ryan guided the Falcons to the playoffs in four of his first five seasons. After reaching the NFC championship game following the 2012 season, Ryan signed a $103 million contract. Ryan has gone 18-30 since signing the deal.

Ryan won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (given to the nation’s top senior quarterback), the Manning Award (given to the nation’s top quarterback), was ACC Player of the Year and finished seventh in Heisman Trophy balloting.

He set the BC school record for single-season passing yards and when he completed 388-of- 654 passes for 4,507 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2007.

“Boston College is an amazing place,” Ryan said in a statement. “I am very fortunate to have had so many great memories during my college years at BC. I continue to be so fortunate with the retirement of my jersey and I am humbled that it will hang in Alumni Stadium with BC legends Doug Flutie, Mike Ruth and now Luke Kuechly.”
