Falcons owner Arthur Blank made a brief comment on the Julio Jones situation to the media as he climbed into his SUV after a morning finance-committee meeting at the NFL spring owner’s meeting in Buckhead on Tuesday.

"It's just a process we have to go through," Blank said.

The van departed quickly, but Blank will be back for meetings this afternoon.

After the meeting, Blank discussed Jones’ situation with columnist Jeff Schultz of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“As I said about Matt Ryan, how I wanted him to be our quarterback for his entire career, Julio Jones will be our receiver for his entire career,” Blank said. “This is just a normal kind of discussion that takes place. We’ll deal with it. We have an excellent relationship with him. It’s great.”

Blank was asked if he would call the contract negotiations a restructuring or an extension.

“I wouldn’t call it anything,” Blank said. “You can just say work will be done.”
