Early Friday morning, Atlanta Hawks rookie DeAndre' Bembry was caught by Atlanta Police driving 128 mph on Interstate-85 in a purple Dodge Charger, according to a report by TMZ Sports and confirmed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police suspect Bembry was racing another vehicle at speeds topping 150 mph in a 55-mph zone limit.

The Hawks released a statement Friday morning addressing the report that Bembry was arrested for reckless driving and speeding.

“We are aware of an incident involving DeAndre’ Bembry earlier this morning,” the statement read. “We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”

The Atlanta Hawks host the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Philips Arena after losing to the Orlando Magic 100-98 on Thursday night.
