Fans react: Georgia Tech announces Adidas partnership

Georgia Tech announced Tuesday that Adidas will be the Yellow Jackets’ official supplier of team uniforms, apparel, shoes and accessories through the 2024 season.
The only power-conference school under contract with Russell Athletic, Georgia Tech announced in June it would not renew its contract with its current athletics sponsor after the 2017-2018 academic year.
“Based on our shared values of innovation and excellence, adidas is the ideal partner for Georgia Tech Athletics. We’re thrilled to be a part of the adidas family,” Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansburt said in a statement. “We look forward to collaborating with adidas to provide our student-athletes and fans with the most cutting-edge athletic gear in the marketplace and to amplify the Georgia Tech Athletics brand in Atlanta and beyond.”
Adidas and Georgia Tech agreed to a six-year contract effective July 1, 2018.
Here’s what fans and Georgia Tech athletes had to say about the move:
Anyone write an obit for Georgia Tech's Russell Athletic apparel deal? Eulogy? Playing of taps? Celebratory march for adidas?
