Falcons linebacker Deion Jones intercepted a pass against the Saints in 2017.

Middle linebacker Deion Jones won’t play Thursday night when the Falcons take on quarterback Drew Brees and the high-powered Saints offense in New Orleans.

Jones is recovering from a broken foot and has not played in the past nine games.

The former LSU star is from New Orleans.

Jones also did not play when the rivals met earlier this season. The Saints won 43-37 in overtime in Atlanta and New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara caught 15 passes for 124 yards.

Jones has played 32 regular-season games as a pro, and in four against the Saints (12.5 percent of his total), he’s registered 38 of his 255 career tackles against New Orleans (14.9 percent), eight of his 23 pass breakups (34.8 percent), five of his 14 tackles for lost yardage (22.4 percent) and three of his seven interceptions (42.9 percent).

The Falcons are 4-6. The Saints are 9-1.
