First game with the roof open:

First notable guests 

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, retired Falcon Michael Vick, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed were in attendance for the Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers.

First boo

When the Packers ran out of the visiting tunnel, Mercedes-Benz Stadium erupted with boos.

First coin toss

The Packers won the coin toss (calling tails) and elected to defer to the second half.

First kickoff 

Packers kicker Mason Crosby kicks to Andre Roberts in the end zone. Roberts brings it to the Falcons’ 14-yard line.

First pass completion

The second play of the game was a Matt Ryan pass to Julio Jones for a 19-yard gain and a first down.

First smack talk

Devonta Freeman and Kentrell Brice exchanged words following a Falcons first down. Freeman picked up six yards on a run.

First touchdown

Ryan pitches to Freeman who scores the one-yard touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers’ pass intended for Geronimo Allison is intercepted by Desmond Trufant.
