College football play-by-play expert Beth Mowins will call Sept. 11's Monday Night Football broadcast of the San Diego Chargers at the Denver Broncos, according to Sports Illustrated.

The Broncos and Chargers will air on ESPN at 10:20 p.m. as the late in the MNF double-header.

After calling play-by-play for Oakland Raiders’ exhibition games for the past two season, Mowins will add to her duties as an ESPN college football broadcaster.

Mowins is the second woman to call play-by-play for an NFL regular season game. The first was Gayle Sierens who covered the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 27, 1987. After good reviews, Sierens was offered to call more NFL games by NBC Sports, but the conflict with her main job at a local NBC station kept her from any further experience, according to Sports Illustrated.

Mowins is expected to be joined in the Monday Night Football booth by former NFL coach Rex Ryan who was hired by ESPN in April.

After Ryan was hired in April 2016, Mowins and Ryan called the Florida State Spring game.
