Dwyane Wade doesn’t have any hard feelings about being traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers less than a week ago.
In an interview with ESPN released Monday, Wade— back with the Miami Heat after the trade— said he’s fine with the trade and understands the Cavaliers needed to make some moves because the mix of players wasn’t working.
“It’s nothing negative against the guys (who weren’t) there, but it was just wasn’t working,” Wade said. “It just wasn’t fitting the way a championship organization want to see fit… Guys are happy and I don’t want anyone to talk bad about the guys that (were) there like it was their fault. It didn’t work and everyone’s moved on to their respective places and everyone’s happy.”
Wade, along with Jae Crowder, Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye, Derrick Rose and Iman Shumpert, were unexpectedly traded a few hours before the trade deadline Thursday in moves that reshaped the Cavaliers roster.
