Dream sign Wheeler

The Dream signed guard Erica Wheeler to a training camp contract on Monday.

Wheeler, who was an all-Big East player at Rutgers before finishing her career in 2013, averaged 16.6 points for Recife in Brazil. Contract terms weren’t disclosed.

The team also waived guard Chucky Jeffery, forward/center Monique Oliver and center Lauren Okafor.

The Dream will play New York in an exhibition on Wednesday in Madison Square Garden. They will open the regular season at New York on June 5.
