Soon-to-be retired NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. is expected to host a home-improvement show on the DIY Network with wife Amy in early 2018.

The four-part series will follow the couple as they restore a run-down, seaside home in the Old Town district of Key West, Fla.

"Amy is a fantastic designer," Earnhardt said of his wife, according to HGTV. "She has creative ideas and a strong work ethic. We love DIY projects around the house, so I expect this to be challenging but fun."

On April 25, Earnhardt announced he would retire from NASCAR at the end of the 2017 season.

Senior vice president of original programming and production for HGTV, DIY and Great American Country John Feld shared the network’s excitement for the series in a statement.

"We've seen how Dale Jr. races a car, so we're confident that with Amy's help he will easily navigate the typical trials and tribulations of a home renovation," Feld said according to HGTV. "Fasten your seat belts because this one is sure to be a thrilling, unpredictable ride."
